I'm interested in the contradiction of connection and disconnection that humans have with the natural world, and the animals we share that world with. I often paint animals to raise awareness of human action on their existence but, instead of graphic imagery, I prefer to use a sort of whimsical realism, placing animals in anthropomorphic compositions or in man-made environments as a way of highlighting their reluctant inclusion in our lives.
